What is M.Optom?

M.Optom or Master of Science in Optometry is a postgraduate Optometry course where students undergo two years of academic training and service. During this time, students learn how to handle patients independently and manage visual disorders within the scope of an Optometrist.

    Basic eligibility criterion for pursuing M.Optom:

  • B.Optom (60% Aggregate)
  • 1 year of Clinical Experience (or)
  • Fellowship in Optometry

    • Duration:2 years

Note for Non-Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University candidates:

  • You need to obtain an Eligibility Certificate from The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai.

  • Transfer Certificate (UG)
  • Internship Certificate
  • Migration Certificate (From your previous University)
  • Degree/Provisional Certificate

Fees Structure

  • Year 1: ₹1,50,000/-
  • Year 2: ₹1,50,000/-

    • Note: The above-mentioned fees are not inclusive of examination fees.
